Nicos Christodoulides announced on Sunday his resignation from the post of Foreign Minister, which he submitted to the President of the Republic, Nicos Anastasiades, and which was accepted.
At the same time, in statements at the Foreign Ministry, Christodoulides expressed his interest in the 2023 presidential elections, stating that it is not yet time for decisions. Early and long election periods are counterproductive and benefit no one, he said. He said he will make announcements when he makes his final decisions.
Christodoulides remains in the post of Foreign Minister until Tuesday, January 11.
