The Pancyprian Medical Association (PIS), which follows the guidelines of internationally recognized scientific bodies and organizations, once again recommends vaccination against coronavirus as the best practice for primary prevention of the disease.

In a statement today, PIS states that the scientific community is based on evidence-based knowledge and has the opportunity, through the rapid development of technology, to use this knowledge to contain the virus through the safety and efficacy of vaccines, noting that it is a fact that the high transmissibility of the Omicron strain has led to a sharp increase in the number of cases and has caused concern, intensifying the need to strengthen prevention and response measures against the pandemic.
