[CNA] National Council meeting to review developments in Cyprus, expected to discuss the situation in Ukraine

The National Council is meeting today at 6.30 p.m. under the President of the Republic, Nicos Anastasiades, to review developments in the Cyprus problem and to be informed on the issue of the Confidence Building Measures (CBMs). The situation with regard to developments in Ukraine is also expected to be discussed.

Government Spokesman Marios Pelecanos told CNA that during the meeting "there will be a review of developments in the Cyprus issue since the previous National Council meeting and an update and discussion on the issue of the CSOs, which are being promoted, as well as efforts to restart the negotiations."

Asked if the issue of the war in Ukraine will also be discussed, Pelecanos said that "it is expected that the facts and the situation as it is shaped by the developments in Ukraine will be discussed."
