For us, the Hellenism of Cyprus, Karolos Papoulias was consciously a constant friend, co-sponsor and supporter of the struggles for the vindication and reunification of our country, noted the President of the Republic Nicos Anastasiades in his condolence message in the electronic book of condolences opened by the Embassy of Greece in Nicosia.
In his message, President Anastasiades said that "all of Hellenism bids farewell to a special personality, a great man. Karolos Papoulias, a man of rare ethos, prudent, rational and of great courtesy, served Greece for decades, honouring it with high acts of exemplary devotion".
