MPs Gus Bilirakis and Nicole Malliotaki criticize the US government over the decision on the EastMed pipeline in a letter to Foreign Minister Anthony Blinken, dated 21 January, which was made public today.
In expressing their disagreement, the MPs refer to the undermining of the project and by extension to the undermining of three of the US's strongest allies in the region, namely Israel, Greece and Cyprus, as well as the European Union's aspirations for energy independence and economic prosperity.
They report that Europe is facing an unprecedented increase in energy prices, which depend on many political, geographical and market forces.
