French-Dutch aviation giant Air France-KLM announced on Thursday a more than 50% reduction in its net losses for 2021, but will need more capital measures due to the pandemic.

The airline's losses for 2021 amounted to 3.3 billion euros. It said capital strengthening measures could amount to around €4 billion and acknowledged that the Omicron variant of Covid-19 hit positive trends in results after a good start in the fourth quarter of 2021.
