The PEO believes that the recent decision of the Council of Ministers to reduce the excise tax on petroleum products and to extend the reduced VAT rate on electricity is moving in the right direction, despite the delay in its adoption.
In addition, the PEO said in a statement today that "the latest data published by the Statistical Office on the serious price increases in basic goods, coupled with the dangerous upward trends recorded in inflation", which in February increased at a rate of 6.6% and called on the Government "even now, to proceed with the implementation of measures to address the consequences and problems that will arise in the economy and society".
