The Police in view of the Easter Monday weekend, is taking additional measures for the safety of the public on a nationwide basis, with an increased presence on the road network, in order to prevent road collisions, to mitigate traffic and to facilitate the public's movements, it said in a statement.
It is noted that during the three-day period, mass exodus of vehicles and increased traffic on motorways, interurban roads and roads in mountainous and semi-mountainous areas are expected to be observed.
As mentioned, police measures include motorised patrols, traffic control and regulation where necessary, as well as traffic police checks.
