In a letter sent on 26 January to the three managing companies, the CEBE requested the suspension of the increases in charges at the Limassol port until 20 February in order for the Ministry of Transport to work out the various alternatives.
In a statement issued today, the KEBE welcomes the government's intention to develop a comprehensive and feasible proposal to resolve the issue.
According to the KEBE, one of the proposals put forward by the Chamber, given that it can be legally implemented, concerns the possibility of foregoing all the revenue that the State will receive from any increases that the port management companies intend to impose.
