An appeal was filed today, on the instructions of the Attorney General of the Republic, George Savvidis, in the Supreme Court against a person who admitted that on two separate occasions, for a fee, he assisted the passage of illegal immigrants from the occupied to the free areas of the Republic.
In a statement, the Legal Service said that the accused had been given a 12-month prison sentence by the Limassol District Court.
The Legal Service considers the sentence imposed by the District Court as insufficient.
