More than 600 patients, from 33 countries, with leukaemia and other haematological malignancies received a transplant, while more than 20,000 people with haematological malignancies, cancers, genetic and other rare diseases were served by the molecular diagnostic department of the Karaiskakio Foundation, according to an announcement by cdbbank (Cyprus Development Bank).
According to cdbbank, the important and multifaceted work of the Karaiskakio Foundation, which has the world's first Bone Marrow Donor Registry in terms of population, as well as cdbbank's valuable contribution in supporting the Foundation's efforts to tackle childhood cancer, were presented at a press conference held on Monday 20 December at the Foundation's premises.
