[CNA] Judicial reform effort has become hostage to political expediency, says IDA

The Pancyprian Bar Association (PBC) said in a statement that the recent debate in the Legal Committee of the Parliament on the three draft laws on judicial reform showed that the overall effort has become hostage to political debate, expediency and petty political objectives.

He notes that while the three Bills have received the approval of the IDC, the Supreme Court, the Attorney General, Greco, the Venice Commission, the Rule of Law, they have been pending before the Parliament for more than two years with a now evident and strong concern for the future of the justice system.
