The reform of local government, the need to institutionalise a framework for the implementation of public works in order to ensure that public works are of high quality and the immediate promotion of legislative regulations, the supervision of electromechanical installations, were among the issues raised at a meeting on Tuesday between the President of the Parliament, Anita Demetriou, and the leadership of the Cyprus Technical Chamber of Commerce (ETEK).
According to a statement by ETEK, "the purpose of the meeting was to bring to the attention of the Speaker of Parliament issues of capital importance for the public interest, the promotion of which clashes with established perceptions and practices".
In this context, the reform of local government was discussed, including the modernization and simplification of licensing procedures, control and titling
