The Cyprus Institute of Neurology and Genetics (INGC) has been accepted as a full member of four European Reference Networks (ERNs), following the completion of the evaluation at local and European level, while remaining an associate member of five more networks, according to an announcement.

The European Reference Networks are virtual networks involving European healthcare providers and aim to facilitate collaboration on complex or rare diseases and conditions that require highly specialised treatment and pooling of knowledge and resources.

The first EDCs were launched in March 2017 with the participation of more than 900 highly specialised healthcare facilities from more than 300 hospitals in 26 EU countries, with 24 CNAs currently active in various thematic areas
