Prices in the manufacturing sector increased by 7.5% in 2021, compared to 2020, reaching the highest level in the last eight years, while for December 2021 alone prices increased by 18.5%, compared to the same month in 2020, recording an all-time high.
In December, according to the Statistical Office, the Producer Price Index in Industry reached 118.3 points (base 2015=100), an increase of 0.6%, compared to November 2021, the highest level since at least 2000, when data are available.
For the period January - December 2021, the index averaged 108.5 points, the highest level since 2013, when the index stood at 108.5 points.
