German industrial orders rebounded in November after a sharp decline in October, according to official data released on Thursday, despite ongoing shortages of raw materials and components that are weighing on the sector.
The index, which gives a preview of industrial production in Germany, rose 3.7 percent in November, compared with a 5.8 percent decline in the previous month, according to revised data from German federal statistics agency Destatis.
The figures were a positive note "for the economic outlook," the German Economy Ministry said in a statement, noting that "economic activity continues to be hampered" by problems in supply chains.
