A 26-year-old driver was brought before the Nicosia District Court on Wednesday, which ordered his two-day detention for an investigated case of speeding and failure to comply with a police officer's signal.
According to a police statement, around 10 o'clock last night, while members of the police were carrying out traffic controls on Aneksartisia Street in Strovolos, they signaled a car driver to stop as he was speeding.
The driver failed to stop and picked up speed in order to evade control.
