[CNA] In France for the work of the Foreign Affairs Council

Defence Minister Charalambos Petridis will travel to Brest, France, today to take part in the work of the Foreign Affairs Council, in the framework of the French Presidency of the European Union.

A statement by the Ministry of Defence said that the Ministers of Defence of the Member States will discuss current issues of the Common Defence and Security Policy.

They will attend a working dinner with the NATO Secretary General, the UN Deputy Secretary General for Peacekeeping Operations and the Chair of the European Parliament's Committee on Security and Defence, during which they will discuss the challenges faced by the EU due to the interventions of state and non-state actors in the regions where the Union is operationally engaged.
