Early estimates from the Department of Public Works believe that the Nicosia District Court fencing project is expected to be completed in mid-April 2022, it was reported at a meeting of the President of the Supreme Court with the Minister of Justice and Public Order, the Minister of Transport, the Chief Registrar and the Presidents of the Pancyprian Bar Association and the Nicosia and Kyrenia Bar Associations.
According to a press release, the subject of the meeting was the discussion of the building problems with the relevant Ministries and the Department of Public Works, in order to find interim solutions until the completion of the Nicosia Courthouse.
Addressing the Ministers, the President of the Supreme Court, Persephone Panagi, expressed the necessity of the construction of the Nicosia Courthouse, a request dating back to 1969, and the strong support for the construction of the new building.
