[CNA] Imprisonment of 28-year-old man for assisting third-country nationals to enter the Republic illegally

The Larnaca District Court today sentenced a 28-year-old man to 3 years and 6 months imprisonment, after finding him guilty in a case concerning assisting third country nationals to illegally enter the territory of the Republic, an offence committed on 10 November 2021.

In a written statement issued by the Police Headquarters Communication Office, it is stated that "the man, then aged 27, a resident of Cyprus, was found to be transporting by car, in the free areas of the Republic, a number of persons who illegally entered the Republic".

The car driven by the 27-year-old suspect "was stopped for control by members of the Larnaca Police Directorate, in the area of Pyla and Oroklini, in the afternoon of Wednesday, November 10, 2021.
