[CNA] Immediate registration of the case of two fans arrested for lighting flares at Chirio

A case of illegal possession and transportation of fireworks, in relation to the Law on violence in sports venues, was registered for immediate trial today, with the accused two men aged 25 and 18 years old, who during last night's football match between AEL and APOLLON, lit fireworks in the stands of Tsirio Stadium.

According to the police, the 25-year-old and 18-year-old were found to be in possession of lit torches through closed circuit surveillance and were taken by members of the police to the local Agios Ioannis Police Station for examinations.

They were arrested with court warrants and taken into custody, while on Thursday morning they were brought before the Limassol District Court for the hearing of the case of illegal possession and transportation of fireworks.
