[CNA] Illegal guided tours plague the tourist guide sector, says the Association of Tourist Guides

Illegal guided tours plague the guide industry, posing multiple risks for the future of the industry and quality tourism, says the Cyprus Guides Association in a press release on 21 February, which has been designated World Guide Day, pointing out that the practice of the profession of tour guide in Cyprus is allowed only to graduates of the School of Tour Guides of the Ministry of Tourism and upon issuance of the relevant professional license.

The last two years have been particularly difficult for tour guides in Cyprus and around the world, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, says the Association, expressing the position that the support of this professional group is necessary and essential, especially for the tourism sector of Cyprus.

It is added that the tour guide is the ambassador of our country,
