The International Energy Agency on Friday urged governments to implement immediate measures to reduce global oil consumption in the coming months, following fears stemming from Russia's invasion of Ukraine. [BR][BR]The 10 proposals put forward in a report, including increasing work-from-home and lowering speed limits, could reduce oil consumption among advanced economies "by 2.7 million barrels per day within the next four months," the IEA said.

The outbreak of war in Ukraine led to a sharp rise in fuel prices and led major economies, such as the United States and Canada, to impose sanctions on Russia, banning oil imports.
