Heavy snowfall occurred at dawn in the villages of Panagia and Statos-Agios Fotios, the communities with the highest altitude in the Paphos district.
The president of Panagia K.S. Savvas Nikolaou in his statements to CNA said that the snowfall started at 01:00 and continued until 04:00, resulting in a snowfall of around 10 cm, while now a light rain has started. The community, he said, is affected by "freezing temperatures, with very low temperatures, zero to one degree and the only way out for the residents is the fireplace."
Subsequently, the community mayor of Panagia also referred to their schools that remain closed in the community for the second day, both the primary school and the kindergarten of Panagia.
