[CNA] Greece under Otto discussed at the House of Cyprus

On Wednesday 9 February 2022, in the framework of the third cycle of lectures on Modern and Contemporary History, an open discussion on "Economy and society during the Othonian period (1833-1862)" was held at the House of Cyprus with the cooperation of the Society for the Study of Modern and Contemporary History - Ioannis Kapodistrias (E.ME.N.S.I.).

According to a press release issued by the House of Cyprus, the speakers were Thanos Veremis, Professor Emeritus of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and Andreas Koukos, Lawyer, Historian, President of the Board of Directors of H.M.N.S.I.

The period 1833-1862 examined in the discussion includes the Absolute Monarchy (1832-1843 of the Bavarian Period) and the Constitutional Monarchy (1843-1863 of Otto) and coincides with the 31 years of King Otto's presence in Greece, as mentioned. The speakers focused on the image of Hellas
