The Government will buy grain stocks, a total of 36 thousand tons of barley and corn, lasting 30 days in two shipments, in order to cope with the problem of increases and shortage of grain on the market due to the effects of the war in Ukraine.
As Agriculture Minister Costas Kadis said, speaking at a meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on Agriculture, the Ministry will then work with importers in transparent procedures on how to manage these strategic stocks.
He said that a relevant proposal will be submitted to the next meeting of the Council of Ministers.
