Government Spokesman Marios Pelekanos confirmed to CNA that the Turkish authorities have requested permission from the Republic of Cyprus authorities to transport, by direct flight between Istanbul and Larnaca, a player of the Turkish Men's National Handball Team, who was found to be positive for coronavirus after his arrival in Cyprus.
When the player was found positive, the protocols were followed, he was placed in confinement and we were asked by the Turkish authorities to send an aircraft - ambulance to come and pick him up and this was done, Pelekanos told CNA, when asked to comment on the news posted on the Yeni Dusen website.
