Germany's central bank downgraded its assessment of the German economy's growth prospects in 2022 on Friday, while upgrading its inflation forecast, as supply chain problems and a pandemic put Europe's largest economy under considerable pressure.
The Bundesbank now expects the German economy to grow at 4.2% in 2022 on a seasonally adjusted basis, down from its previous forecast of 5.2% growth made last June.
"The recovery has been somewhat" derailed, outgoing Bundesbank President Jens Weidmann said.
