The Commission for Gender Equality in Employment and Vocational Training focuses on the need to combat gender discrimination, through a statement issued on Tuesday on the occasion of International Women's Day.
Cyprus has adopted legislation on violence against women in line with the Istanbul Convention, addressing all forms of violence against women and girls, criminalising sexism, criminalising stalking and improving the legal framework for equal treatment of men and women at work with stricter penalties. The Women's House is also a pioneering achievement in the whole effort to support women, it said.
