Natural gas prices soared to a new historic level on Monday as the EU and the US discuss the imposition of sanctions on Russia's energy sector over its invasion of Ukraine.
The price of European benchmark gas, TTF (Dutch), April contracts, surged at 10.30 Cyprus time to 345 euros a megawatt hour, showing a daily increase of more than 60%, before retreating to lower levels.
