[CNA] French source: Turkey is a NATO member, but that means it has obligations

We must not forget that Turkey is a member of the North Atlantic Alliance and therefore has obligations in terms of respect for international law, a senior French government source was asked by CNA to comment on the country's place in the debate on the identification of threats to Europe in the context of the formulation of the EU's Strategic Compass.

The same source, who was speaking to reporters on the sidelines of events marking France's assumption of the EU Council presidency, pointed out that whether a country can be considered a threat is subjective, and referred to the draft text of the Strategic Compass, which analyses the geopolitical picture.
