Police investigations into the issue of battered used cars, which were found to be circulating in the Cypriot market with falsified documents, led to the arrest of four persons today, while new arrests are expected to be made in the coming period.
Specifically, the case concerns the importation of used vehicles in Cyprus, which were knocked down (which should normally be stated in the relevant documents), but were presented as not knocked down in the market, through fake data.
As a police spokesman told CNA, following complaints from the Road Transport Department last February and the arrest of a 49-year-old woman, investigations have continued as new evidence surrounding the case has emerged.
