A total of 300 families in the free province of Famagusta receive food assistance from the Centre of Charity and Love (KEPA) "Agios Christoforos" in Paralimni, while another 100 beneficiaries receive a daily hot meal.
As Dimitris Papaeveltontos, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the KEPA, told CNA, "About 300 families of the Famagusta free region in need receive the 'Basket of Love' from the Social Grocery of the KEPA. It is well known that winter is the worst period for Famagusta province as most hotels, restaurants, shops and anything related to the tourism industry are closed, leaving hundreds, if not thousands of our fellow citizens unemployed".
