Five cases involving driving under the influence of drugs are being investigated by the Paphos Police.
According to Pafos Assistant Police Director Michael Ioannou, in one case on 20.2.22 at 20:45 a vehicle driven by a 22-year-old resident of Pafos was intercepted and in a preliminary examination he was found positive.
A physical search of the driver and his vehicle was also carried out without finding anything objectionable. An additional sample was taken and is expected to be sent for laboratory tests to the State General Chemistry Laboratory.
On another occasion, Mr Ioannou said, yesterday around 22:00 another car driven by a 45-year-old resident of a village in Paphos District was stopped. In a preliminary drug test he was reportedly found positive and a second sample was taken which will be sent for scientific tests.
