The deadline for the registration of beneficial owners in the register of beneficial owners of companies and other legal entities has been extended until July 31, 2022, the Department of Registrar of Companies and Intellectual Property of the Ministry of Energy, Trade and Industry announced.
"The four-month extension is given for the purpose of facilitating companies to register the details of their beneficial owners in the Registry, following a general demand from the business community," the Registrar of Companies Department said in a statement.
It states that the beneficial owner register is an important tool offered by the European Union to Member States and aims to promote transparency, prevent and combat the use of companies for money laundering and terrorist financing.
