An earthquake of magnitude 4.5 on the Richter scale was recorded at 05:58 in the maritime area of Cyprus, 50 km west-northwest of Polis Chrysochous and a focal depth of 23 km, which is assessed as an aftershock of the strong earthquake of magnitude 6.5 of January 11, 2022.
As the Department of Geological Survey of the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment states in a statement, today Friday 28 January 2022 at 05:58 local time an earthquake of magnitude M = 4.5 on the Richter scale was recorded by the seismological network of the Department.
