[CNA] DG of the Ministry of Health attends a conference of Health and Foreign Affairs Ministers in Lyon

The Director General of the Ministry, Dr Christina Giannaki, represented the Minister of Health at a conference in Lyon on 9 February, to which the Ministers of Health and Foreign Affairs of the EU Member States were invited, under the French Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

Referring to the promotion of the European Union's actions to support low- and middle-income countries in global health, Dr. Giannakis said that the COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted certain limitations in the global public health architecture that need to be addressed, and that it is becoming more evident every day that the current and future pandemics can only be addressed through collective action.
