The cause of death of the 17-month-old boy, who died yesterday in Limassol while being fed at the home of a woman who was taking care of him, has been officially confirmed.
According to the forensic doctors Angeliki Papetta and Orthodoxos Orthotoxos, who conducted the necropsy on the body at the Nicosia General Hospital, his death was caused by suffocation due to obstruction of the internal orifices of the airways, namely the larynx and the trachea, due to food ingestion.
Meanwhile, the police continue to investigate the incident, while it was found that the 35-year-old woman who cared for the baby, although a kindergarten teacher, did not have a license for home care of children.
