The National Davis Cup team was defeated in Cairo by the hosts Egypt 4-1 in the play-off matches for promotion to Group II.
According to a press release from the Cyprus Tennis Federation, the second day of the matches did not go well for our national team, as it suffered a fair defeat, with three losses in as many matches, accepting a heavy but fictitious result, which does not reflect the difference in capacity, nor what the two teams presented on the court. That's because each of the three games had its own history, and its own facts that were shaped on the court, and the outcome could have been different.
