Cyprus will participate with Emmanuel Christodoulou in the Balkan Under-20 Athletics Championships, which will be held on Saturday, February 12 in Belgrade, as announced by the Cyprus Amateur Athletics Federation.

Despite the small number of young athletes involved in indoor athletics in Cyprus, as well as the lack of an indoor stadium for training on the island, Cyprus can boast three gold medals in this event, two in a row by Styliana Ioannidou (height), with the same number of competition records, and one by Gregory Nikolaou (triple jump) the year before last.

According to the COEAS, in the absence of the two athletes from this year's event due to studies abroad, Emmanuel Christodoulou will participate in the Balkan Championships, having tried his strengths for the first time in indoor track and field in Saturday 5 Feb
