Cyprus holds the scepter in the global struggle for the prevention, control and management of thalassaemia, said the President of the National Thalassaemia Committee, Panos Englezos, at a press conference organised by the Ministry of Health on Thursday on the topic "National Strategy for Thalassaemia and Other Haemoglobinopathies", at the multi-purpose hall of the Ministry of Finance.
The press conference was held following the approval of the National Strategy for Thalassaemia and Other Haemoglobinopathies by the Council of Ministers, which had convened on February 2.
In his address, the Minister of Health, Michael Hadjipandela, said that "the National Strategy for Thalassaemia and Other Haemoglobinopathies is expected to serve as a reference with multiple benefits,
