Two female and one male athlete will represent Cyprus at the Balkan Championships Men's - Women's Indoor Athletics, which will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2022, in Istanbul. They are Olivia Fotopoulou (60m), Natalia Christofi (60m hurdles) and Christos Demetriou (800m), according to an announcement by the Cyprus Amateur Athletics Federation.

The latest performances and the tying of the Cyprus record in the 60m hurdles are pushing Natalia Christofi to run the race of her life in Istanbul. The 8.19 she achieved on 27 February at the Peace and Friendship Stadium puts her just three centimetres away from reaching the mark for the World Indoor Championships in Belgrade. As Christofi showed in Piraeus, she can run at least 8.16 and book the biggest date of her career so far.<b
