The Cyprus problem and the Confidence Building Measures (CBMs) were discussed, among others, by French President Emmanuel Macron and President Nicos Anastasiades during a bilateral meeting on Thursday evening, on the sidelines of the European Union-African Union Summit in Brussels.

As President Anastasiades said in a post on Twitter on Friday morning, the two Presidents had a "productive meeting" on the Cyprus problem and the MoUs proposed by the Greek Cypriot side.

"With my friend President @EmmanuelMacron we had a productive meeting last night in Brussels on issues: Cyprus issue, the MoU, bilateral relations between Cyprus and France, the continuation of the French EU Presidency and international developments," the post reads.
