A total of 82 traffic offences were reported during checks carried out over the weekend on both the main and secondary roads of Paphos by traffic patrols.

According to Pafos Assistant Police Director, Michalis Ioannou, the traffic complaints were made over the weekend as part of the Directorate's efforts to prevent road traffic collisions as well as burglaries and thefts.

The focus of the checks, he said, was on offences proven to be among the main causes of serious and fatal road collisions, such as exceeding the speed limit, failure to wear a seat belt and helmet protector, and use of a mobile phone.
