Maria Sakkari will compete for the title today against Estonia's Annette Kontaveit at the St. Petersburg tournament.
In the (chronologically) second semi-final of the event, Kontaveit defeated Latvia's Jelena Ostapenko in two sets (6-3, 6-4) and will face the Greek, with whom she is very good friends.
In the first set, Ostapenko started impressively and led 3-0 with a break against the Estonian, but then disappeared from the court.
