The man who gave Chelsea the Champions League trophy in 2021, scoring the golden goal in the final against Manchester City, Kai Havertz, it was he who scored the penalty goal in the 117th minute of extra time in the Club World Cup final against Palmeiras that gave the Londoners their first trophy in the competition.
Thomas Tuchel's side beat the Brazilians 2-1 and, after losing the 2012 final to Corinthians, went on to win the title, leaving Palmeiras in second place in the tournament held in the United Arab Emirates.
Romelu Lukaku opened the scoring on 55 minutes, but the English celebrations didn't last 10 minutes as Vega, who had also scored for Al Ahli, made it 1-1 with a penalty on 64 minutes.
