The four teams that clashed yesterday, Benfica-Ajax and Atletico Madrid-Manchester United, left open accounts for qualification to the Champions League round of 8.
In the opening matches of the round of 16, Benfica and Ajax were held to a 2-2 draw in Lisbon while Atletico and Manchester United played out a 1-1 draw in Madrid. These two matches completed all the first legs of the phase.
