There was a more than 500% increase in cases detected in the 18-19 age group in the last week of December (25-31), compared to the previous week, with the total cases for the week soaring to 16,530, reaching the number of cases recorded in the previous four weeks (27 November to 24 December), when they totalled 16,536.
