[CNA] Cannabis use increased, ecstasy decreased in Cyprus during the pandemic, according to research

The use of cannabis increased while the prevalence of substances such as ecstasy decreased during the enforcement of the COVID-19 pandemic, according to the results of the European Monitoring Centre for Drugs and Drug Addiction (EMCDDA) European Online Survey on Substances of Dependence, published on Thursday, in which Cypriots participated.

The data of the survey concerning Cyprus are similar to the European ones, a statement from the Cyprus Addiction Treatment Authority said. Cannabis, it added, was the substance most used, with 97% of Cypriot participants reporting that they had used it in the previous 12 months.
