By devoting just 40 minutes of one's time, one day one may be able to save a life, Health Minister Michael Hadjipandela said on Friday, announcing the information and education campaign in the field of sport for the immediate treatment of sudden cardiac arrest.
The campaign, with the slogan "For the Heart of Sport", involves informing everyone in the sports sector and training in "Basic Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), the use of the Automated External Defibrillator (AED), and the treatment of choking", using specialised state-of-the-art training equipment.
The officials of the resuscitation services of the Ministry of Health will carry out these programmes.
